I love to ride, be it road biking or mountain biking, even family rides. Although finding time to do it a whole lot, is difficult (for me anyway). Just wonderin' if anybody else out there rides much.

I've always wanted to be a "cycler" and all of that healthy stuff. There's a huge cycling path that starts a few blocks away and goes around a rather large state park. And then the bike trails break off from there and go for literally hundreds of miles. It's pretty cool.
But alas... pray for me. Seems like every time something gets fixed, something else breaks. I had been walking quite a bit but I think I've either broken my shin bone doing that or there's something weird in the ankle joint. Feels like a stress fracture, except the pain is too dull.
But there's "something" in there and I'm kind of laid up. Not so "laid up" that I can't work and drive. But work and drive is all I ever do. I need to get active again before I lose even more of my marbles.
I've climbed fourteeners and hiked extensively through the mountains. When I was younger I'd just pack up what I needed on my back and "get lost" for a day or two at a time. I've always liked bicycling around. It's great fun and I'd really like to do more.

yeah, I pray that ankle problem gets healed up Pel, hard to do anything in the "excercise area" with that going on.
I wish I could find time to get "lost" in the mtn's a day or two, that sounds great (I'd pack a pistol tho). i did some mtn climbing in Summit County, Frisco, Colorado a few years ago, that was a blast.
That biking path near U sounds great too. We dont have any biking paths around here, tho I sure wish there were. I rode one in Tulsa, OK last year, since I was working there. It was a learning experience. I hadnt been on one so I took off with a guy from there that rides and races them all the time. He had to stop and wait on me quite a lot. It had huge ditches, creek beds, huge rocks to ride over and in between, tall deep drop off edges..... Anyway that guy went wide open, and left me in his dust, but it was a blast none the less. I did manage to walk away at the end of the day, so it was a success.

Shag, my brother ran a cycle shop for many years and now has turned it over to his son. I guess I never got into it much again after leaving the Mennonites. The young boys would ride a lot for transportation.
Do you have a very regular program or just as time permits?

I am a firm believer in the Old Paths
Articles on such subjects as "The New Birth," will be accepted, whether they teach that the new birth takes place before baptism in water and Spirit, or that the new birth consists of baptism of water and Spirit. - THE PENTECOSTAL HERALD Dec. 1945
"It is doubtful if any Trinitarian Pentecostals have ever professed to believe in three gods, and Oneness Pentecostals should not claim that they do." - Daniel Segraves
Only as time permits, which is seldom right now, since work is busiest right now. I dont ride hardly at all in the winter cause Im not as tuff as some of them guys.... that, and Ive got more common sense lol. Summer is when i ride the most, but even then, its mostly just when I can fit in in....spur of the moment. No regular programs for the most part for me. I go w/ some locals on Tuesday evenings and Sunday afternoons when I seldomly have the oppertunity, but that is when the locals go on their weekly scheduled rides.
If You ever pick up the hobby, maybe you can get a real good deal on a bike with a close relative having a shop. but then again, sometimes ya got to watch family the closest they say, that ya dont get ripped off... LOL

I like road biking. I have an older Vision recumbent. I've taken some fairly long rides and done a few centuries. Once you ride a "bent" you won't relent!! I need to get back into it this Summer!

How old? My touring bike is a Portugese made "Flandria" It was made in the 70's and still rides good, although it is only a 10 speed.
I've done a 50 miler on it.
