Cheese ball

Here is the recipe for my favorite cheese ball...It's very simple to make. Does anyone else have a favorite? I Would like some new ideas.

PINEAPPLE CHEESE BALL

1 8 OUNCE CAN CRUSHED PINEAPPLE IN JUICE, EXTREMELY WELL DRAINED - MAY SQUEEZE PINEAPPLE IN HAND TO GET JUICE OUT. PINEAPPLE MUST BE EXTREMELY WELL DRAINED FOR CHEESE BALL TO BE FIRM.

1 TABLESPOON VERY FINELY CHOPPED GREEN BELL PEPPER (MAY USE RED FOR CHRISTMAS CHEESE BALL)

1 TABLESPOON VERY FINELY CHOPPED WHITE OR RED ONION

1 TABLESPOON VERY FINELY CHOPPED CELERY (MAY OMIT)

2/3 CUP VERY FINELY CHOPPED PECANS

8-OUNCE PACKAGE OF PHILADELPHIA CREAM CHEESE, SOFTENED

1/2 TEASPOON SALT

DASH (OR A LITTLE MORE OF HOT SAUCE)

FOLD PINEAPPLE, BELL PEPPER, CELERY (OPTIONAL), ONION and 1/3 CUP PECANS INTO THE CREAM CHEESE. ADD SALT AND HOT SAUCE. FORM MIXTURE INTO A BALL. CHILL FOR 30 MINUTES IN THE REFRIGERATOR. WRAP IN SARAN WRAP AND ALUMINUM FOIL.

AFTER THE CHEESE BALL IS FIRM, ROLL THE REMAINING 1/3 CUP OF PECANS TO COVER OUTSIDE OF THE CHEESE BALL. CHILL OVERNIGHT IN REFRIGERATOR WRAPPED SARAN WRAP AND ALUMINUM FOIL.

Re: Cheese ball

my mom used to make one that had cut up ham slices - you'd roll it in your diced ham, and I remember it was cream cheese and green onions, I forget the rest...I'd love to make that again if anyone has the receipe

I have used this recipe several times and love it. I have even used it as a filling in sandwiches with a dark bread- Yum. I am getting hungry!
