ALS - Has anyone had close family or friend...

Has anyone on AFF had any close connect with someone who had ALS?

Yes, a friend of mine just passed away because of this horrible disease. She was a strong woman in her early thirties. The disease, within a matter of three years, conquered her body.

Re: ALS - Has anyone had close family or friend...

I have someone very close to me who has many of the symptoms of ALS. No diagnosis yet, but today it's weighing on my mind.

Just thought I would reach out and see if anyone here had been affected by it personally.

I'm sorry for those of you who have.

Please pray for my loved one, He has been suffering for a couple of years now with symptoms and has had no diagnosis yet. Getting into a neurologist took him over a year and a half... and the diagnosis is not in yet.

Praying my friend, I know it has to be hard on you to watch your loved one suffer. Praying for you both!

Very sorry to hear this and will take it to the Lord in prayer. Its heart breaking. I was very young when my mama had it. I really didn't understand it. I'll be praying the results are not ALS or something as serious.

I have Huntingtons Disease that runs in my family.
My Dad had it, & my older Sister has had it for almost 30 years & has been in a nursing home for the last 12 years.

It is a very debilitating Neurological disease!

I will surely pray!
