Digital TV

I'm sorry I am not going to explain this real well, but I know someone will know what I am talking about. I was in the Post Office and saw a sign about televisions and everyone needing to change something about their TV's before a certain date. It may have said digital or something. Anyway, what is needing to be changed? I remember something about money rebates for it a long time ago.

All those who have TV's will be part of the new world order!

Actually, it just means your Rabbit Ears or Antennas won't work for a digital signal!

Re: Digital TV

TV is moving from analog signal to digital. A TV must now have a digital receiver or be hooked to cable or satellite to work. As Ron stated antenna and rabbit ears will no longer work for TV

The FCC/Government wants the lower level band widths for their own use and so they are taking them over. These band widths have been used by Television broadcast for years and can be picked up by areal antennas and rabbit ears.

The FCC gave all tv stations a mandate to vacate these channels/bands by Feb 2009 thus forcing them to move up to the higher "digital" band widths. These higher bands require either a digital converter--which an areal antenna or rabbit ears plugs into--or for the person wanting tv to subscribe to digital TV service.

If you already have cable tv--nothing changes you are already on digital channels. If not, you need to either get cable or buy one of those converter boxes (at Best buy or where-ever) to plug your rabbit ears and tv into..

I have seen so many lies posted. The best one is the one Triumphant 1 did his best to combat. You know, the hair cutting party thing?

Prominent members of this board chose to believe the lie and even continue to spread it, even though T1 had totally proved it was false.

Hey, T1, thank for the answer. The reason I am asking actually is because it brought me back to about 20 years ago when RD Whalen was preaching about how the antichrist was going to use fiberoptics so they could keep tabs on every household. Do you remember that? Anyway, can they keep better tabs on us with this stuff?? LOL! It sounds pretty far out but I still have those old tapes in my head and with the economy and Obama and all that, well, I had to ask!

LOL...this really has more to do with a limited number of those lower bands and the fcc/government wanting to reserve them for the future use with fire, ambulance, police, and military communication equipment...than some spy on you stuff....

In reality for many people nothing is changing since they already have cable/digital tv...

I remember the old scare tactic days too...goodness.

The newly available government controlled waves are also the range used to track RFID chips.

THere is a $40 card that you can have sent to you to help pay for the converter box needed if you don't have cable or sat.
