16 Questions - Mailing to UPCI Ministers

These questions beg to be answered.
  1. Would you be in favor of UPCI ministers granted liberty to minister on television?
  2. Would you like UPCI ministers to be allowed to advertise on television?
  3. Would you like to see “the disapproval of television in church members homes” be removed from articles of faith?
  4. Would you like for UPCI ministers to be allowed to have televisions in their homes?

I wonder if these are the questions being sent out to the ministers?

If not, they should be.

I spoke to a District Official last night and was told. "When 2500 men VOTE, things will be in a different light than discussed. "

The above questions surely change the discussion AWAY from the original ADVERTISING questions..... these questions are much more broadened.

talk is cheap and all the speculation is removed at the time when things are actually discussed on the voting floor and the question is called for a ballot.

The Television Committee has reportedly broadened the scope of the ministerial survey that will soon be sent out. There are now sixteen questions total. Of great interest are the addition of the following questions.

1. Would you like to see “the disapproval of television in church members homes” be removed from the articles of faith?

2. Would you like for UPCI ministers to be allowed to have televisions in their homes?

As the surveys will be tallied before the final resolution is drafted, I wonder if the survey results will broaden the resolution? What happens if the majority of ministers surveyed indicate that they want the tv language completely sticken from the manual?

Will the resolution be altered to reflect that desire?

With not being in the UPCI I have no say.

What I do admonish is that men of God have some freedom.

To think and be lead by God without and iron fist of a provocation.

The limit from 1954 onward was zero tolerance.

Those who choose otherwise then were no longer in the fellowship. I see the scope of this being much larger than we realize.

"We have guys against being on TV, doing the same thing on the Internet."

Plenty of hypocrites, and nothing about freedom. Freedom would allow some to simply resign than use the pulpit to speak against something they already have agreed against.

Good observation. Might it be that some are against the idea of TV only because of those who opposed it 33 years ago?

2007-33= 1974?

As much opposed as are all the other Holiness points that have been trampled in the last 33 years. The 1983 Technology did not touch Internet, for it came of age in 1994 or so.
