I believe it was Arkansas Mike that stated recently that one of the signs that America has failed in the War on Terror was the resurging of the Taliban in Afghanistan. He stated that they were back at pre 9/11 strength.
Well it looks like the mighty Taliban staged a huge offensive this weekend as one last attack before the harsh winter sets in and it FAILED miserably. The result? An estimated 100 Fierce Taliban warriors dead and the offensive a colossal failure.
So much for the Obama talking points.............................

Was there this past summer. Did you go to the North End? A lot of commercial growth up there. Yeah, Nerk couldn't handle losing 300 jobs. Now if Obama or Mac would lower taxes on corporations and small businesses these companies would not be shipping these jobs elsewhere.

yeah lots of commercial growth but when all else is leaving what good is that going to do?
I agree, if someone would stand up and start stating what they plan to do about all these jobs leaving the U.S. they might actually get someones attention.
It doesn't look like BO will do anything about lowering taxes on businesses.

I am not part of this conversation, but if you guys are talking about Newark as in Newark, NJ, the state legislature has completely ruined NJ for business, not the Federal government.
MD wouldn't be that far behind NJ if it wasn't for its close proximity to DC.
There's NO REASON for Baltimore, MD to be the dump that it is-- no reason except for a bad posture towards business.
Thank you MD anti-business and pro lawyer Democrats!

I misspoke. In fact it isn't the Taliban that is at pre 9/11 strength. It's Al-qaeda! My mistake is noted and corrected.
Just to be clear though, we have clearly failed in the War on Terror due to the error of GWB's judgment in invading Iraq despite DB's claims to the contrary. According to a report this fall from this countries 16 intelligence agencies, Al-qaeda has "re-organized to pre 9/11 strength". http://www.csmonitor.com/2007/0718/p99s01-duts.html
It's now clear that due to the decisions this administration made, we have allowed the sect of al-qaeda that killed almost 3,000 people on our soil to re-organize and continue plotting for another major attack in this country. While allowing that to happen, we've spent the last 5 years, invading a country that had no past ties to al-qaeda and was no immediate threat to our interests. Those are the facts.
As far as the Taliban goes, you're correct they are not at pre-9/11 strength. However, they have been resurgent due to our absence at finishing the enemy off in Afghanistan, while we took the Iraq diversion.

According to anyone who's paid attention to the aftermath of the Iraqi war. There isn't a news agency worth it's salt, that's reported that there was any form of Al-qaeda in Iraq previous to our invasion. Saddam Hussein hated Osama bin-Laden. When Hussein invaded Kuwait in the early 90's, bin-Laden wanted the Saudi's and Kuwaiti's to agree to let him fight Saddam and expel him from Kuwait. The two hated each other.
The attack on 9/11 had ZERO to do with Iraq. There were no terrorist camps there. There were no planning sessions there. There was no safe haven there. There was no connection between Iraq and 9/11 and if you have proof to the contrary, I'd love to see it. If not, I'd say my post was completely factual.
