I mean this week has ended like the last three for them. They start off this week behind badly, so they have McCain starring into the camera and asking, "Who is the real Barack Obama?". They have their surrogates on the stage proclaiming his scary middle name "Hussein" and all of it's scary implications. They have Palin running around claiming he "pals around with terrorists." Naturally his supporters begin to get agitated and start to get riled up in all of their fury. A few of the intellectually challenged even take it upon themselves to yell, "Kill him!!" and "Traitor!!!" or even "Terrorist" during McCain/Palin speeches.
Obviously by the end of this week, they're internal polling shows them that their attempts at questioning Obama's character and other silliness has taken off like a lead balloon and then this type of video ends up on every major cable news network by Friday night.

So after trying the nasty politics bit for a week and not moving the polls, I guess "The Maverick" is back for a while until they change his mind again.
When is Rick Davis going to do to the right thing and resign as his campaign manager? I mean do they even have a strategy anymore? After all the flip flops, suspensions, and debate delay, this has to be one of the poorest ran campaigns in a long time.

Imagine how poorly run a McCain Presidency would be.
I have a new found respect politically for Sen. McCain after seeing this video!
Maybe all of this was staged, but I doubt it.
This is also a genius political move to record Sen. McCain handling the fallacies concerning the reputation of his rival in such an honorable way!
This will score huge points with the undecided voters, if they see it before making their decision.
Good Job Sen. McCain!!!
Maybe your right, and then again maybe he tried his best negative digs and it blew up in his face. Afterall, they're the one's who instigated all of the fear in those people's voices.
What gives? Was Sarah Palin lying when she claimed he "pal'd around with terrorists" or is that "decent and respectable" by McCain's standards?
He and his campaign can't figure out what they believe I guess.

I think Sen. McCain was being sincere in the video you posted.
I don't think Sen. McCain did much of anything to encourage the prejudices that many voters already had concerning Sen. Obama.
Governor Palin did, but she's a token, a pawn and if she becomes the VP, she'll be a VP for show, with little or no role in the White House. She will not be a Cheney VP, not in the least bit!

PLAN:
Sen McCain will be the "good cop" and Gov. Palin will be the "bad cop".
Meanwhile, the surrogates will stir up smoke, and play dirty. There will be at least one more instance where Sen. McCain will show leadership and integrity in reigning in the undesirables in his campaign. He may even publicly chide someone close to him in the process.
But he won't stop them before they do their damage.
When he addresses them, he will come out looking good. Even if he doesn't address anyone else because no one else comes out with some over the top mess, if he continues to be the man he is in that video, it can work real well for him.
It's the perfect combination of clean and dirty politics, done in a way that almost keeps Sen. McCain spotless!
It's a genius plan!
