I'm not trying to be contentious here, but this "tube top" reference is just way out of line on dragging a person's character through the mud, rubbing his face in it, kicking him and drowning him.
It's not a very Christian way to go about it, IMO.
The point that he was conveying, is that he would do whatever it took to help someone get back in touch with God. Because I know them, I knew what he was talking about.
They are very giving and kind people. I don't agree with him on many issues, but there is one thing you can bank on - if you are in their vicinity, you will be fed and if you need a place to sleep it will be afforded.
He would never allow someone to remain on his platform in that garb. He was making a point on how far he would go to reach someone that thought they could not turn around and find God again.
Oh, that some of us would have that mindset!!!
