I just received a breaking news email from CNN saying that Sen. John McCain will participate in tonight's debate.

HHmmmmm ... so the question I have is, how well do you think he will do ? I believe him to be a better candidate than Obama, but that may not matter if Obama is a better debator. A close race can be won with a good debate even though the winner was just slick. yes, pun was intended.. (William come to anyones mind ?)

Scotty, I have said for some time that McCains only chance in this election is to beat Obama like a drum.

if Obama wins (big or just barely) or if McCain just ties or barely wins, OBAMA will win the election.

McCain has to wipe the floor with Obama and I dont know if that is possible.

McCain is really great in a town hall style debate, but I dont know what this format will be. I believe that Obama was not great in the Dem. debates, so McCain has a chance.

but it should be noted that while McCain was in Washington working on the bailout, Obama was in Miss. getting ready for the debate.

This election is still Obama's to lose. we shall see tonight.

Well hopefully the counter to this is that Obama needs the prepration do to inexperience. McCain should be ready for most any question. I worry about his temperment if Obama starts quoting mis information.

Obama was in Washington yesterday too. They are both expected to arrive later today.

For Oxford's sake (and the nations) I'm really glad this is going forward. Ole Miss has spent over $5M on this!! Cafe's have prepared for the crowds, mementos printed with the date, etc. It would have been a BIG loss had it not gone forward.

We were supposed to eat out tonight, but I called my friend and canceled. Tomorrow night I'm open.
