Google Chrome?

Has anyone tried the free download of google's new browser that was introduced today? I don't want to be the guinea pig!

I'm curious to how well it works. I'm using Firefox as we speak!

No I did download the new IE on my wife's computer, it works well. I also use firefox most of the time. I am afraid of google it seems like all they want to do is gather all my surfing habits and turn it into add $$$.

Re: Google Chrome?

CNN reports that there are still problems. Google has to get the bugs worked out.

I downloaded "Chrome" this afternoon and am using it for this post right now....

It's a very interesting browser - will be fun to see what direction it takes as it matures.....

I've used and tried just about every browser out there including obscure things like Lynx, etc.... Understanding that this is the first time Chrome has been available for download I'd say it's as good as it gets for a new browser.

It's quite "light weight" - download was fast, install was quick, browsing is quire fast, the "footprint" on the display is minimal so you have content maximized on screen, etc...

When typing in a URL you get a list of not only bookmarks and prior sites but Google suggestions for what you may want to enter. I have just begun playing with it - sorry I don't have more feedback yet. My first impressions are fairly good though.....

Re: Google Chrome?

I'm a Firefox guy. I have IE and Firefox on my pc, so I dont think I need a third browser.

I think Google might be a little bit late to the party on this one.

You may be right about them being "a little late to the party"

That said I think the dark horse here is the extent to which they use this browser as a platform for other google "stuff" and integrate it with their search, gmail, etc. The entire Google Gears thing along with them releasing their own browser looks like puzzle pieces being put together for something bigger. It will all be interesting to watch for sure......

Re: Google Chrome?

I have been using it for the past few days and it works fine for me.
It is a small download, installs fast and runs quit.

When one tab slows down or crashes it is not supposed to affect the other tabs.

So far it works fine but nothing that really stands out as a reason to change from Firefox.
