Lightbulb The REASON I want to be a missionary...

1. Because there is always something to do.
2. Because life in these United States is getting unbearable; between the abortion, homosexuality, addictions, and financial crisis...
3. There is a 'hunger' in other nations, and we are spoiled here. Even though we have the best of everything we gripe.

I feel a change coming but don't know how, when, or where...but it's coming.

Rhoni,

I doubt on the mission field things are any better (#2), but if you feel God is pulling you in that direction I pray he leads you where you will feel fulfilled!

He's always needing willing workers!

Well, you'd never be bored on the mission field; that's a given. But it's also not a reason to go - I think you have to feel a definite call to be able to go through what missionaries face. Now.....if God's calling you.......that's a whole 'nother story.

God isn't talking to me right now...I am in that 'transition' stage and He is being silent.

You could be right! I have retreated into myself because I am: scared, disappointed, discouraged, and stuck. I am staying inside my protective shell until I regain my fight.

It is in times like this that it is imperative to immerse yourself in the Word. We live in a time when people go from conference to conference looking for "a word" when we leave the Word sitting on the dresser. I am confident that even in a time when you feel like God is not speaking to you, if you increase your study and intake of the Word, you will hear His voice.

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.

Rhoni, you aren't bored - you are lonely and you are seeking something to fulfill that loneliness.

You are seeking to find your purpose in life - after accomplishing all that you have you are waiting for the "what's next" in your life.

Both of you have more sense than anything else I've heard on here...especially those who pat a BINGO on the back of a non-churched person.

Blessings, Rhoni
