Sis. Lois Gatlin Terrells new book

I have received several PM's requesting the mailing address to order my grandmothers book.

Her book is an autobiography of her life;

In this book which she titled "Extraordinary Miracles in an Ordinary life"

You will begin in the backwoods of Louisiana where the Jesus Name Message came to her mother and her family by a lady Evangelist, which she names, in an Old Brush Arbor.

You will hear the trials that the old Jesus Name people endured from her own experiences. When she tells how Old Brother Hoyt brought the message of Divine Healing into their country, how healing began to happen everywhere, including her own.

My grandmother was an epileptic with constant seizures, constantly chewing her tongue until it bled. Her body would convulse in these seizures. She tells of two lady preachers who came through her country and they were invited to come and pray for my grandmother. She tells the story of how these ladies crawled into her bed and commanded all unbelievers to leave the room...... eye witnesses tell of grown men, rank sinners, falling under the power of God as these women prayed..... when it was all said and done.. NOT ONE MORE SEIZURE nor any medications some 60 years later.....

You will read of her marriage, being left with 10 children by a husband who chose another woman in the church.. how this affected her children to this day.. how she was left to face the church with the embarrassment of his infedilities. The story will take you through a lifetime of love for her Lord and also through the murder of her youngest son........ through her songwriting years and some of the stories of those songs.....

I am very proud to be her grandson, my heritage is strong and no matter my theological views on women preachers, I will always hold my grandmother in high regards for the price she paid to serve Jesus.

I believe, Terry Joe would be Sis. Lois' step son.

My wife has seen their church in Foxworth with the church standards list right on the building.

I heard of a church that kept a list of all those who had been "set down" on a blackboard in the lobby of the church.

When I visited Christ Temple in Indianapolis, they told us that Bishop Tobin had a blackboard set up by the door and if your name was on it, go home because you had been disfellowshipped.

I LOVE IT!

Maybe that was the place that was meant when I heard someone say that about the blackboard. The person I heard say it was the late Norman Paslay. I don't think he gave any indication of where it was.
