Most of you have heard too much preaching....

Yes, I said too much preaching,...........and not enough teaching. You've heard too many sermons built on "catch-phrases", and not enough real solid teaching straight from the word.

The main job of the four-fold ministry is to equip and mature the saints that they might minister to the world. That job can only be accomplished through Bible based teaching.

I know this is going to make some of you mad. Of course, it wouldn't take much for some of you anyway.

Do you even remember what your pastor preached about two weeks ago on sunday morning? I don't remember a lot of preaching I heard in my life, but I remember many a Bible study.

Re: Most of you have heard too much preaching....

I agree with the lack of teaching, but I believe one arena of preaching has been forgotten, neglected, and even excommunicated from many churches today. That area is repentance. Years back, I heard many preachers speak on repentance, and it cause the altars to fill. Now, we have remove altars from our churches and personal prayer lives, and replaced conviction with feel good Christianity where all one has to do is say a prayer and get saved, without even needing to repent.

Yes, we need more teaching. We need A LOT more repentance preaching!

Agreed. I was asked to speak at a Paltalk gathering a while back. Afterwards the Sister who invited me said "This is the FIRST TIME we have ever had a Teaching message here".

Re: Most of you have heard too much preaching....

Ministering is to edify or build up one another. There is teaching and equiping but there is also encourging and the gifts. We usually have teaching on a Wed night which is usually a time when sinners are not there. It is just saints. Sunday school is also usually more teaching style. Sunday nights are more of the enccouragement /prophetic types...by that I mean the preacher might have heard from God and delivered that idea to us.

However I do think there is not enough teaching., More specifically the kind of teaching that helps us to evangelism or know how to tell say a Mormon how to be saved

  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.

Yes its still going thank YHWH! Several people have come to Oneness truth there recently. Lord willing tomorrow night I will be teaching a foundational Oneness message there.

The fighting there is no worse than the fighting here. When you go into the open forum of the Internet World you expect it. However you CAN MODERATE the rooms to get it the way you want.

In my Paltalk room I have authority to take away the mic from anyone at any time. I also have authority to stop anyone from putting anything in the text at anytime.

It all depends on how you choose to run the room. You can choose that no one else can speak and you do all the talking. Or you can give others a certain amount of time to speak.

The owner of the room and whoever they choose to help them ARE THE MODERATORS.

I am very grateful I have access to such a marvelous tool for fellowship and ministry.
