What a family.

I just spent the last couple of hours re-reading some old posts from Feburary. For those of you in the "know"- you know which ones. For those that don't know, the posts were about my wifes passing. I sat here this morning, crying just like I did then... not out of sadness or loss- but out of gratitude. Lately I have been a little (whats the word?) exasperated with AFF, but, as I read those old posts from people I don't know, many I will never meet, but from people I consider friends and family, I was reminded just how connected we all are through the Holy Spirit. Regardless of how we may percieve God's Spirit- no matter what we believe or which church we attend, we are connected with a force that is greater than all the military might the world has. The force of Love. I am so thankful to have a forum like this where we can help each other through the hard times... just as you did for me in Feb. Its good to have a place where we can rejoice with one another for the victories we achieve. We are more than a forum, We are a family... I thought of this song-

Chorus
I'm so glad I'm a part of the Family of God,
I've been washed in the fountain, cleansed by His Blood!
Joint heirs with Jesus as we travel this sod,
For I'm part of the family,
The Family of God
You will notice we say "brother and sister" 'round here,
It's because we're a family and these are so near;
When one has a heartache, we all share the tears,
And rejoice in each victory in this family so dear.

Chorus
I'm so glad I'm a part of the Family of God,
I've been washed in the fountain, cleansed by His Blood!
Joint heirs with Jesus as we travel this sod,
For I'm part of the family,
The Family of God
From the door of an orphanage to the house of the King,
No longer an outcast, a new song I sing;
From rags unto riches, from the weak to the strong,
I'm not worthy to be here, but PRAISE GOD! I belong!

Chorus
I'm so glad I'm a part of the Family of God,
I've been washed in the fountain, cleansed by His Blood!
Joint heirs with Jesus as we travel this sod,
For I'm part of the family,
The Family of God

Thanks Admin, owners, moderators and members for making the Apostolic Friends Forum a place of family and friends.

Re: What a family.

Even families go through rough spots when they don't agree - hopefully, we can put the past couple weeks behind us and focus more on all the good of AFF.

I believe AFF has helped a lot of us and for many different reasons and I remain optimistic that it can continue to be a source of healing, strength, friendship and a family!

OA, you are well-loved and respected here. Although we've never met, and perhaps never will, I'm glad to call you friend.
