Bless U

Have only been member of AFF a few days, already my heart has been thrilled and enlightend. I look to making many friends here. We as children of the King are called to minister one to another, I read that going on here, praise the Lord! We never really know what someone is facing, but if we are sensitive to the Holy Ghost we will be led in what way to minister. All of us will have to face sad times, stiff challanges and disappointments in this life. But we can make it!! Jesus is our friend that sticks closer than a brother. What a blessing that He will also use us to be a friend one to another. We need to help bear the burden, offer encouargement and hope. The opportunity to be that kind of a friend is an opportunity to be Christlike. Blessing to all of you, my friends.

Re: Bless U

I aggree, Praising. This is a great Forum, because the people are great. A couple of months agao, when I really, REALLY needed someone to stand with me thru a dark time, I found a whole lot of SOMEONES. Some stood with me figuratively in prayer and support, some stood with me in really needed help, and two stood with me in the literal sense (and others would have if they could). To think of people all accross the country, in Canada, Brazil and other places were praying for and grieving with me was overwhelming.

I can honestly say, I don't believe I could have made it without some of these folks. Those that visited, thoase that have called, those that gave the flowers, and most of all, those that said, "Brother, I don't know you, but I'm here for you" helped me more than you can ever know.

And, should you ever need them, they will do the same for you. Finest bunch of raggamuffins I have ever met! Funny thing is... I know of only one brother and his wife that I have ever met in person. But I feel like I know everybody here!

OneAccord,

I echo those sentiments. 2 years ago when Walt's aneurism ruptured and he wasn't expected to live, then spent all that time in ICU and finally in the nursing home before he got to come home for good, these people were my rocks!

I would come home every day dog tired. Exhausted physically and emotionally. And I would need to unwind. So I would come here and post the daily update on Walt's condition. I can't tell you the strength I gained from the responses my friends on here posted. Words will never be sufficient to express how wonderful everyone was

And since then - same thing! In fact, one day my dear friend OneAccord sent me an IM to tell me that he felt led of the Lord to remember my family in prayer that day. This was right after he had gone thru what has to be one of the worst experiences a man could have. Still he reached out to me in Christian love.

Praising Jesus, stick around. We argue. We disagree. We agree. We love. We support. We rally around our own! This is absolutely one of the greatest groups of people I could ever imagine "meeting" on the internet. (and I've only met 4 1/2 of them in person - I count Sis Hoover as the 1/2 )

Actually, it was you. Others too, but, you. During that time, you wrote something (can't recall right now) that let me see the sun shine a few minutes one day. I've tried to find that post, but I haven't found it as yet. I wanted to print off everything that was written those days, but yours... I wanted to print off and frame. Those words were my lifeline. I'll find them. And I'll remind you of what you said. And, thank you, for whatever it was you said!

Yes, it was you because of the few things I can remmber from that time, I recall sitting here reading what you wrote with tears, thinking, How Amazing Grace reallY is! Then I noticed your screen name and cried some more. Gotta print those posts off. They'll be a blessing for years to come. Your words were exactly what I needed at that moment.

Theres alot from that time that I can't remember. Someone told me that, one hour before Lola died, I picked up the Bible and just opened it and started reading. The said I read the 23rd Psalm. I have no memoory of that at all. Its hard to believe its already been two months. (The 6th)
