In the face of rising costs and no corresponding rise in income, what are you doing to cope?
cutting back on groceries?
cutting back on church/charitable giving?
attending church and other functions less often?
not putting as much in savings?
cutting back on social activities?
cutting back on eating out?
staying home instead of going on vacation?

cutting back on groceries? Spongin' off my brother-in-law.
cutting back on church/charitable giving? Pledging to TBN, just not following thru.
attending church and other functions less often? Attending church when I can (close to home) Other functions? Bro. on Sand Mountain in Alabama there are no other functions.
not putting as much in savings? I'm putting as much as ever in savings. None.
cutting back on social activities? No social functions here, unless ya count sittin on the front porch watchin' the occasional car go by.
cutting back on eating out? I eat out whenever I can get someone else to pay for it.
staying home instead of going on vacation? Staying at home IS my vacation.

Ok, this just sounds funny.
I'm moving across country (I guess that's a vacation of sorts?).
To a place with a slightly higher cost of living.
And possibly going off of state assistance all together, meaning I'll be buying my own groceries with cash vs foodstamps.
And doing more charitable giving.
And attending church more often, and driving further to do it.
AND probably saving more than I ever have before.
And increasing social activities.
I will try not to increase eating out (rare already).
I feel like I missed the memo about the economy.

God did it for us. Out of sheer generosity he put us in right standing with himself. A pure gift. He got us out of the mess we're in and restored us to where he always wanted us to be. And he did it by means of Jesus Christ. ~Romans 3:24 from The Message

You keep giving to God, you keep going to church to meet with others of like precious faith, you keep on keepin on.
Our God does not work inside our economy. He will supply our needs. No need to stop giving and doing your part for His kingdom. You can never out give God. EVER
I promise you. I have never known a time when money wasn't tight, every year we try to give more than the year before. Every year He blesses me more and more.
Our God does not work inside our concept of the earthly laws that we have to live by. He can supercede our laws whenever he needs or wants to.
look at His feeding of the 5000 with 5 loaves and 2 fish. He did not break any laws to cause that multiplication. He just superceded the laws to make it multiply. He created the world and all that is in it. He can supply and multiply anything at any time.
I also believe that it is times like this that our God likes to show up and show off.

I was in Ind a couple of weeks ago, gas was 3.45 a gallon.
Came home the next day, gas here was 3.06 a gallon. Glad to be in the south where I can almost afford to put gas in my car. Now, if we just had roads to drive them on.
What gets me is this: I went to Best Buy in Chattanooga to buy a DVD burner. The place was packed. People were buying like there would be no tomorrow. It was like the day after Thanksgiving. Every store was like that. I thought I read somewhere that there was something going on with the economy.

Maybe they finally got the revelation.....you want a better economy..spend!!!!
Stopped at a little store that has good food and the local log truck drivers stopped there and eat all the time. He said he was wanting to remodel the place but didn't want to spend the money because he "didn't know what this economy was going to do as business has been slow" I couldn't help myself......I asked him what material he planned to use. Yep, he said wood.. ssoooooooo...you buy the wood, the supplier orders more from the mill, the mill orders more from the loggers, the loggers come by and buy more food......
He still had a blank expression on his face when I left..
