Google's New Custom Time Feature

http://mail.google.com/mail/help/customtime/index.html

I like Google Mail, but I do NOT like this feature!

Re: Google's New Custom Time Feature

I just saw this today when I logged in, but didn't read it. What is it you don't like? Never mind, I see.

Re: Google's New Custom Time Feature

Suppose you thought you sent an email to someone telling them something--anything--important. They don't receive it. (Because you didn't actually send it.) Instead of saying, "I'm sorry, I guess I didn't get that email out", you say, "Check your email box again." Then they open up their email and lo and behold--there's the email they thought they didn't get.

I don't even like the idea of back-dated Birthday emails. If I forget--I forget. I don't want the person to be fooled into thinking they just missed the email. I don't owe them a Backdated Birthday e-card--I owe them an apology.

Or,
"Hey, I missed you at the family reunion."
"I didn't even know about it!"
"Oh, well, I sent out emails to everyone!"
"Really? I never received it!"
"Definitely check your box, because I sent it to you!"
"No, I would have attended if I had known."
"Just check your box." (And there it is.)

AGHHH!!!!! THE JOKE'S ON ME!!!!!!!!! LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Welcome to Gmail's April Fool's Day joke

As you may have guessed, Gmail Custom Time is not a real product or feature of Gmail. No, we don't plan on allowing your late paper to show up in your prof's inbox as if it were sent a week ago.

So, now that you know, send the joke to a friend you think will fall for it!"

LOL! I didn't see that! Do you see how unsurprised we are about things?

I was reading that the FCC has a court case pending concerning the use of certain expletives on prime time television.

Quote:
The U.S. Supreme Court announced today that it will review a ruling by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit in FCC v. Fox permitting “fleeting,” as opposed to “repetitive,” use of the F-bomb and other indecencies on broadcast television during the hours when children are in the audience.

I was listening to Rush Limbaugh, yesterday, on the car radio and he used the "D" word several times in 30 minutes. I was thinking for claiming to be conservative he isn't helping this court case in the future as it will, certainly, continue to keep going back to court until it eventually wins.

I don't think that is a case that will be won. If anything, they'll probably produce a [dirty] laundry list of allowable language. Kind of like PG-13 movies are now allowed one instance of the "F" word. I HATE that. I will not rent/buy movies that utilize that permission.

Anyway, you're right--we're not surprised at anything, are we?

I'm not certain it won't eventually be won. I think prime time is under immense pressure to keep up with cable/satellite and they want more and have gotten that through the years.

The PG-13 movies are including more nudity as they go along. I've noticed so many changes in the bookstores. I was in Hastings yesterday. Just walking through to the other side of the store I was glancing at displays and books titles. "We've come a long way, Baby" as the saying goes.

Yes, agreed, we are not surprised by anything.

Pretty clever, actually.
