"I love food!!!!!"?

I've heard people say, "I love food!" My sister was here last weekend and said that very thing.

It's just food, so I don't get it.

Do you "love" food?

Food loves me - it sticks closer to me than a brother!

Don't they really mean - I like this or that?

We had grilled shrimp, which was excellent, on the bay last weekend, but I can't say I got all excited about it.

I think our culture overuses the word "love"... most people realize though, that when you say... "I absolutely love those shoes" it doesn't mean you want to marry them or would die for them.

I love the foods I love!

Girl, her eyes were lighting up when she said it. That is just weird.

She isn't the first person I've encountered like this!

Oh no, you don't understand. (poor, poor thing) It is a completely emotional relationship.

I enjoy food. Don't think I love it.

Food does consume a large part of our lives - it's what we enjoy with our families and friends on a daily basis and holidays are all about food.

I guess so. I remember being excited because of the "spread" my mother laid out for Thanksgiving and Christmas, but I don't care about it any more.

I think it's because I don't want to sit still long enough to eat it.

Re: "I love food!!!!!"?

Seriously, when I was young, probably up to my late teens, I was completely with you. A funny family story is that one time when I was about 6 years old we were going on a picnic, and I saw them loading food into the car. I moaned and said, "We have to eat on PICNIC too???"

I didn't start to LOVE food until I started cooking, and it has all been downhill since then. Ask me if I had weight issues until my mid 20's. You can guess the answer.
