Hollywood Star Attempts Suicide

Owen Wilson was taken to the hospital Sunday Morning after cutting both his wrists and taking an indeterminate amount of pills.

His brother Andrew placed a 911 emergency call when he discovered Owen's condition. OW was taken to St. John's in Santa Monica where he was stabilized then transferred to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.It is believed that he is in the hospital's detox unit.

Owen Wilson has starred in many movies. Among them are;

Wedding Crashers
Starksy and Hutch
Shanghai Nights
I Spy
Behind Enemy Lines
Shanghai Noon
Cars (voice)

Another example of how fame and fortune do not equate happiness. (of course they can HELP!!!)

I am praying for Owen Wilson that somehow this low point will bring him to Christ.

I'll agree with you in prayer for him. You are absolutely right, things do not satisfy the empty soul only Jesus can do that. The love of money can never take the place of the Love of Christ.

This is shocking.... He was not known as a hard partying Hollywood type. In fact, he always had the image of a "good boy".

If it was a suicide attempt as seems the case, his consumption on this particular night was no "party." It's truly sad - but hopeful, he's got his family with him. A lot of people fall into despair with no one close that they can turn to. Mr. Wilson seems to be a little luckier, I hope his luck holds out long enough for him to find some real and meaningful healing.

I have read that both of his brothers and his mom and dad have been with him at the hospital.

News reports say he broke up with his girlfriend Kate Hudson (Goldie Hawn's daughter and an actress herself) earlier this summer and has since regretted it.

Probably especially since she has moved on and seems quite happy with her new boyfriend.

Obviously Owen is pretty unstable whether the love life or other reasons was the cause of this suicide attempt.

I hope there is some christian in his life who can use this incident as a door to reach out to him.
