What is the difference in the baptism of the Spirit in Acts 2, and the baptism of the Spirit today?


Please consider that the Acts 2 baptism resulted in Cites being turned upside down, notable healing and miracles taking place, and persecutions on the believers being a result.

The baptism of the Spirit is no different. What is different is how people allow that Spirit to lead them!

The Baptism of the Spirit, also referenced as:
filled with the Holy Ghost
Holy Ghost coming upon
the promise of the Father
Holy Ghost falling upon
receiving the Holy Spirit

happened about 9:00 AM in the Jewish Temple at Jerusalem in the first century on the Jewish feast of Pentecost. About 120 individuals (men and women) were praying and suddenly there came a sound like wind, tongues of fire appeared over their heads, and they began to speak with languages/tongues they did not normally speak.

Throughout the Book of Acts the fire and wind were not repeated but it is recorded in some cases that the speaking with tongues did occur.

Today when people receive the Holy Ghost Baptism (HGB) we do not expect the sound of wind and the appearance of fire but we do expect that speaking with tongues will occur at the HGB or soon afterwards.

I've heard testimony that some have seen cloven tongues as of fire since, and I know of at least one occurance of a sound as of a rushing mighty wind.

I believe that it is for a sign when needful. I agree, the baptism is the same otherwise.

Dont forget the miracles we see being done in the book of Acts are almost exclusively being done by the APOSTLES. Should we as the normal Christian expect to have as great an anointing as Apostles?
