Lightbulb 6/8/07 Billy Graham Special

Did anyone else watch the Rev. Billy Graham special after ET last night? It was awesome. It talked about the teams they sent out at 9/11, Columbine, as well as the College campus last month. It gave personal testimonies of coming to God and to top it off Casting Crowns sang! It was awesome.

I have the utmost respect for a man of God who lives his total life above reproach and leaves his children with a legacy of God's grace and faithfulness.

Respectfully, Sis. Rhoni

No doubt he is a sincere man and has done good works but we are not saved by works but by faith in the blood through the obedience of the gospel which Dr. Graham has not done nor does he preach. But rather a false gospel to those 'convicted gum chewing' front gatherers where they are told they are saved by repeating the non-scriptural sinners prayer. I wonder how many have been decieved in these meetings that may have kept them from really being saved? Besides that I am sure it was good.

Bro. Epley,

I knew you would say something like this, but my heart convicts me every time I think about the arrogance of us Apostolics who who stood outside his gatherings at collisiums and conference centers to pass out tracs and told people he didn't have the truth.

The BIble tells us that we all see through a glass darkly... none of us have a corner/monopoly on the truth...but Rev. Grahams works speak volumns about his character and the fruits that are evident in his life that many of US can't begin to compare to.

Just saying, I'd be careful about judging this man.

Respectfully, Sis. Rhoni

I am in no way impugning his life nor his sincerity but his false message that does not have the power to save ONE person much less mulitudes of people. I am glad not embarrassed I am predictable. Dr. Graham does NOT preach the message of the 1st century church thus is a false prophet. His character is admirable and his zeal is a testament of sincerity. But just as the Gandi and and the Buddist who set fire to themselves are no doubt sincere but sincerely
wrong. I am judging his message and it is found wanting if the Bible is to be believed. The truth is either he is preaching the truth or the Apostolic church is preaching the truth one is in grave error BOTH CANNOT be right. Sincerity will NOT save in the absence of truth.

Bro. Epley,

I know of many Baptist folks as well as many people from other denominations who are spirit filled. You do not know how many lives have been changed and how many of those changed lives progressed to a different level over time. I do not think Rev. Graham is a false prophet at all.

I do know that exclusionism, and those that think they are the only ones right, saved, or going to heaven have earmarks of a cult. Many of us will be surprised who will and will not make it to heaven. The Bible speaks of those who have done many things in His name but yet he will ask them to depart from him because He never knew them. This is not about Rev. Graham but about those who have learned to play PC and act PC and dress PC but their insides are full of dead men's bones.

I do believe the Apostolic message but this is not comprehensive of the "truth" in all matters. Again I say...do not be quick to judge. If we, who are spirit-filled [as we define it] can't live a life of integrity, free from the stigma of sin, then how do you think a man who is not spirit-filled [again by our definition] overcomes? Something to think about.

Blessings, Sis. Rhoni

There are MORMONS and JWs that live sterling lives. I had a aunt who was a Christian Scientist that was moral person her religion changed here but did NOT save her. Buddist are known to be moral. Not to impugn you but honestly from reading this you do NOT believe the Apostolic message. ONLY the blood has the power to save and that is through obedience through the gospel the which Dr. Graham does NOT preach. The twelve steps of AA has changed alcoholics but has NEVER saved one. Meditation no doubt has helped disturbed and distressed folks but NEVER saved one. The Moonies has rescued some neglected and abused young folks but NEVER saved one. Mr. Moon has not been charged with any moral charges. Evidently you believe salvation by works instead of faith in the blood we recieve when we are born again by obeying the gospel. Remember YOU NOT I started this thread I am only replying which I will EVERYTIME false doctrine is exalted and truth is minimized. I am set for defence of the gospel.

Jesus is a false gospel?

Do you believe God is so weak that he can't get His gospel out on a large scale? Why hasn't He raised up a "sincere" UC to reach the massess? Or are you Calvinist and believe in only the few??

Calvin did not say "Few there be that find it" Jesus did. The multitude takes the broad way and the few takes the narrow way.

Easy to accuse the masses of the broadway when the UC's are not able to preach the truth to them in any venue. "How can they believe if they have not heard?" btw: Calvin did say the few, the "elect only".

Again? Jesus is a false gospel?? Because that is Who Dr. Graham preaches.
