"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

I think I've met five people I've met online. One of them is Miss Brat here on good old AFF.

That was such a pleasant visit!

I've met you, Sister Alvear, Heavenly One, and I *almost* met rrford. Our church was doing altar music at Camp meeting one year and I saw him from a distance talking to my pastor. I just didn't know till later who it was. I met one other preacher, but I can't remember his username. I think he read a lot more than he posted. I sort of know triumphant1 already, (from our area) but not personally. He and my pastor are friends. There may be a few more, but that's all I can recall right now.

Yes, it was a pleasant visit.

I met Heavenly One as well. I know Coonskinner and his wife but I knew them from before AFF. I knew triumphant1 from afar years back (barely). I met Lois from the Spiritual Abuse website (Sarge). I met someone named Glenn that I knew from another forum and I met Felicity before she went back to the mothership.
