How Do You Feel About This Phrase...

"God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit"

Let me know if you have any problems with that phrase and please briefly explain what your issue(s) is (are) with the aforementioned phrase.

I would have a problem with it, if it were not true...But since he is God the Father,God the Son and God the Holy Spirit I do not see any issue with it.. And it's awful eairly in the morning to be opening this can of worms.....lol

I do have a problem with this phraseology, but I believe it is because for so long, I was taught to have a problem with the phraseology.

Re: How Do You Feel About This Phrase...

The more I think about it, this phraseology would be problematic for me as it indicates a certain, separate three-ness that is unscriptural.

One thing I'll point out. The Bible never one time uses the phrase "God the Son." Just sayin"

For discussions sake... In my opinion the distinctive "God" at the beginning of each phrase would tend to indicate that each is separate rather than a phrase like God.. Father, Son & Holy Spirit. It seems to distinctively call each one God. So we can discuss it from that angle since that would appear to be the intent.

Re: How Do You Feel About This Phrase...

its not three-ness, it just a discripion of what god is, like me I am dad, father, husband all that is doing is giving a discription of who I am, its not saying there is 3 of me..Once again folks reading way to much into the bible, its real simple if you just read it and move past the religion part of it..

DT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You haven't been around to witness my triumphant return, or at least my half-hearted "hey-guys...what'd I miss?"

I've changed my name, (The "low" of Michlow was part of my former last name that belonged to my ex-husband), but as I've informed Timmy, you are still more than welcome to yell "MICH" anytime you see me

As per the topic at hand...I have no problem with the terminology, but it's not something that I can think that I'd have a reason to use it. I usually stick with "Jesus", will occasionally mention the Holy Spirit, but "God the Father, tends to bring to mind Big Bully OT god.
