Re: Romney Getting Desperate
Most amusing. In politics, you do not attack where your opponent is strong if you are not doing well places where you should be competitive. Instead, you are attempting to reinforce those places where you are strong, and attempt to gain ground in the areas that are weak. If Obama were winning, he would start attempting to convince states like Missouri, Montana, Arizona, Indiana, North Carolina, and Nebraska into his tent.
The problem is that Romney has enough confidence in his poll numbers to move into Pennsylvania, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Oregon. These are all states that are decently relaible for Democrats, unless there is a landslide pending such as 2010. That year we saw some of these states make stunning switches from Democrat to Republican control.
The evidence would show that Romney must be confident that Colorado, Florida, North Carolina, Virginia, Nevada, Iowa, and Ohio are either secure or nearly so if he has begun to attack the weakest links of Obama's coalition. Further, National Right to Life has begun to air ads here in Illinois against Obama and Democrats. I believe that we are going to see a second Republican/Tea Party/Conservative wave sweep this country. The Republican party has taken the ideals of the Tea Party to heart, and we will see this born out again in this election cycle.
Further, this is the type of trash talking that campaigns start using when they become desperate. The poll numbers have been close even with a larger than normal sampling of Democrats (sometimes by nearly 10 percetage points) in 'swing states'. The fact that Romney is not even bothering to respond to this is very telling. Obama is fixing to get hit with this scandal coming from Libya and Syria, and when it hits him it will be bloody.

None of the above. However, I am very certain in most of my predictions, although not all. I have made this a habit every two years for the last two election cycles to discover what is going to happen. I watch and pray as I do so, because I want to have an accurate prediction. We have a perfect storm this year where a number of Senate and gubernatorial races will aid Romney, and where he will in turn aid others. This is because you rarely see a split ballot. Both sides will likely change a few House seats, but it will likely be a realigning to the new realities since the redistricting and not have an overall affect on the numbers one way or the other.

I never said that I had a dream concerning Romney winning. Further, I never claimed that my dream concerning Obama came from God. I can think of at least two other reasons for that dream outside of that possibility. Were I to see that headline in a paper the day after the election, then I might start to truly worry. So far all I have really done is pray.
I reach my conclusions via my own research and after prayer. It does not guarantee complete accuracy, but my results have been fairly accurate. The is especially true in Senate and Presidential races. I ran the figures in 'o4, '06, and '10. I am not often taken by surprise. I am also careful to wait until it is almost time for the election to make my prediction, because that is when the numbers are going to be most reliable.
I called Romney the nominee after he lost the primaries to McCain. I also predicted that the Rick Perry campaign was dead in the water when he joined (although I was wrong about his joining). I also said from the beginning that Sarah Palin was not going to be running for President in this cycle. I have been mocked, but as you can see, I do have a record of many right calls.

Re: Romney Getting Desperate
I guess it all depends on what polls you look at huh Demented? After all, RCP has Romney up in NC and Florida. Had him up in Ohio too until a CBS/New York Times poll came out showing Obama up by 5 (of course CBS and the NYT would NEVER slant a poll to favor Obama right). Still has Romney up in the national poll as well. Gallup has him up by 5. Rasmussen by 2. NPR even has Romney up on Obama.
If you believe the polls, it is tight. I think it probably is, but who knows. However, I also believe my eyes. My county in Ohio went for Obama by 15% over McCain in 08. Obama signs and his little nutjob worshippers everywhere campaigning for him. This year...Romney leads O by 15% and signs outnumbers Obama about 4 to 1. No Obama campaign lackeys out and about like last time. The excitement for O has died down considerably, and without that excitement don't expect the same amount of voter turnout.
