I Am Question
When Jesus says, before Abraham was I Am, what does the original greek have for I Am? Is it the tetragammaton or something else?

its a general i am, just as i would say i am at the store, this is the same type of i am used in this manner,
This is not a Tetragramaton, or YHWH, the words hear would have been written with the greek translation for the word adonai, which would be lord.
Jesus makes a claim that before abraham was born he existed.
It could be used to refer to exodus as some do, however i would just point out that when writters of the bible used the title or something regarding the Lords name it was always CAPITALIZED to show this.
one of the biggest complaints of a jehovahs witness, is the removale of the name and insertaining of the word Lord or God in the place of the name.
Though i dont agree with there beliefs they do make a point.
Also Jesus used the same word
I am the truth life and way
I am the good shepherd
I am the Light of the world
they are not litterally translated to
YWHW the truth life and way

No it is not absolutely not. You could never say with a straight face "Before Abraham Lincoln was born, I exist"
Jesus did not say "I am at the store"..He ended a sentence with "I am" that was in relation to the existence of someone that died hundreds and hundreds of years earlier.
The grammar is saying, before Abraham was even born, Jesus exists, not Jesus existed, but Jesus exists.
That is such an emphatic statement even the Jews got it
Nobody else in the bible made such a statement. The issue is not "I am" the issue is HOW Jesus used the term "I AM"

you mis understand what i ment, the words are general the meaning i already explained. you trying to put words in my mouth.
1st i said it simply means i am, its the same exact words that paul used. its general.
second i went and told you specifically what the meanign ment in relationship of these scriptures. that before abraham was i existed.
so i agree no one will use this to say before abraham i exsisted, however the words i am used here is not related to the tetragramaton.

My point was, that it might be the same greek words but it's not being used the same way or in the same kind of grammatical construction
Lastly it does not mean "I existed". Ego Eimi is present tense. It is being used here in connection with Ex 3:14. Ehyeh Asher Eyeh
Exo 3:14 God said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM." And he said, "Say this to the people of Israel, 'I AM has sent me to you.'"
Jesus spoke to them in Aramaic/Hebrew not Greek. Greek was how it was recorded by the narrator

You need to download e-sword so you can check this stuff out for yourself. Quick, easy and free.
Greek words:
ego eimi
I am.
Simple. Jesus said, "Before Abraham came into being, I existed."

yeppers, but not "existed" as in past tense but "I am" as in present tense.
If you are going to use the word "exist" it could be, "Before Abraham came into being, I exist."
