He was on the bubble. he had suspended the worlds worst person piece. The network has new ownership and I suspect he was doing damage that boosted the Republican movement more than expected. We see a firing not called for by Muslims or Jesse jackson. How rare for the left to do something right for a change.

Well let's hope not.

I'm pretty tolerant of people with opposing views in most cases but Olberman (and a few others) will not be missed by me.

How does this compare to Fox giving millions to the RNC and Govenor Kasich? right or wong for a media company to give donations? It seems that msnbc has a higher standard than fox.

how does it compair?

It is utter nonsense that NBC has such a stupid rule for one of its liberal comentators.

Its one thing for a hard hitting reporter who is supposed to give unbiased new to jump on board with a politician.

it is entirely something else for a keith olberman or even an MSNBC to give money to candidates they openly support on thier shows or that they as a station openly support.

Look, the suspension or firing or what ever is NOT about this money. If NBC is getting rid of him, it is for something entirely different, like they dont like his ratings or they dont like his direction.

MSNBC just got new ownership and I suspect this is about the new owners exercising some musle.

NBC's parent company, GE, donates lots of money to Democrat candidates. Pure hypocrisy. KO had just spent a diatribe on Fox's parent company NewsCorp and its donations to GOP candidates.

Re: MSNBC Fires Keith Olberman!

This is the Facebook post I made the morning after.

"I tuned to CNN last night; Wolf Blitzer was hosting the segment. He had two lists posted on the screen labeled: PALIN WINS; PALIN LOSSES. Observations. One: An obvious predilection towards labeling the "losses" in Delaware, Nevada and California as "PALIN LOSSES". Two: An obsession with Sarah Palin. Three: Never mentioning this as a mandate or a landslide".

If you're honest you'll admit that there has been aLOT more Palin bashing from MSNBC than Obama bashing on Fox. Beck and Hannity are ideologically driven, but every other show is much more balanced than anything I've ever watched on MSNBC. I also tuned to NBC Tuesday night to check out their coverage. Brian Williams looked so sad I thought he was going to cry and Andrea Mitchell was talking about a republican that had been declared a winner but there was a 60,000 vote messup that needed to be thoroughly "investigated".

Just a question. Why is it when democrats get elected we hear it called a time for "change" and "hope", but when republicans are, it's because they're "angry"? Kinda hypocrital, imo.

Re: MSNBC Fires Keith Olberman!

Olbermann was using his show to promote the candidacy of Rep. Grijalva from Arizona. He had Grijalva on many times and always featured him in a very favorable manner. That Olbermann also contributed to this guy's coffers is hardly a surprise.

Congressman Grijalva should have been forced to declare an "In Kind" contribution from MSNBC for his appearances on Olbermann's show.
