The greatest speech in Modern American History

This speech by Ronald Reagan was given in 1964. I have listened to it a number of times but it always amazes me how relevant it is today even after 45 years. It really is shocking and it is a reminder of what it is conservatives both believe in and are fighting for in opposition to today’s crop of liberal/progressives.

I just listened to the "tear down this wall" speech. He was an amazing speaker.

I miss Reagan and the presence he brought to the presidency. We may never see another. There's a reason they called him the "Great Communicator."

For what it's worth, my favorite speech in Modern American History was, "I Have A Dream" by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. It makes me cry every time.

They were both great speakers.

Re: The greatest speech in Modern American History

JFK's Inaugurall address was impressive too. I thought Reagan's response after Challenger was brilliant. Though not in complete agreement with the philosophy, John Galt's speech is hard to beat (in the novel Atlas Shrugged), the courtroom scene in To Kill a Mocking Bird (1962) was something else...

Churchill's critical speech to the House of Commons in 1940... William Wilberforce's abolition speech I hear was one of the tops (no audio of course), and anything by Abe Lincoln!
