Friends I have searched for my place in the body of Christ.I believe in the gifts of the Spirit the baptism in the Holy Spirit and have been called a new ager on another forum.

So i left.I've been in heated arguments here about the Rapture and the book of Revelation with Bro.Blume.After this I read the book of Revelation and you know the four horsemen have rode out.
I know the workings of the Holy Spirit and have seen his works in church services but can not believe that so many others call this new age or cultic teachings.
So if you will accept me here on your forum after the heated threads in the past,I'm willing to be good and see what I can learn from you all.I'm searching for my place in the body of Christ and I'm not willing to remain a Baptist and not going to call the workings of the Holy Spirit cultic teachings and I'm certainly not Catholic.I still believe in a Rapture and still differ from Bro.Blume on the book of Revelation but I will agree to disagree.I want more of God and by this I mean walk closer to him and not only do I want to be sealed by the Holy Spirit I want to be filled by the Holy Spirit and you understand this and you know that this is scripture and not a cultic teaching.

Seek and ye shall find. The young man (African) in the testimony
above, received the same experience that my late paternal grand-
mother received in 1933. She repented, was baptized in Jesus Name
for the remission of sins, and received the Holy Ghost, speaking with
tongues. Line that up with Acts 2:38,39 and see if that is what you
are looking for.
Grandma Lizzie was the first of our family to hear, search out, believe
and obey this wonderful Plan. There have been those for four genera-
tions SINCE she obeyed the gospel, myself included, that have found
it to be all God's Word said it would be.
Too many have tried to make the Plan of salvation fit their will. It is
similiar to making something from a recipe. Make a cake, and leave
out the baking powder or eggs, etc. What do you have! You have a
mess. Go exactly by God's Plan and it will turn out RIGHT!

Hey, the Apostolic Umbrella is pretty broad.

We've got preterists and dispensationalists of various forms here; we have one-steppers and three-steppers and maybe two-steppers; we have oneness, twoness, and threeness when it comes to godhead gobbledy gook; we all have standards but they vary all over the map.

Our diversity reflects the Body of Christ.

I know the workings of the Holy Spirit because I've seen him working through some of the best Christians that I know of.It's real and those people that He works through are not seeking signs and wonders.That's what I was told.Told this was new age spiritually.No,No it's not because some of the folks filled with God's Spirit that I seen some were close to 80 year old and don't even know the term new age because they can witness to seeing their grandparents filled with the Holy Spirit.I even had one person to tell me to read a book about "The beautiful side of evil" told me Satan parades as an angel of light.Now I know that's scripture but I am not going to dare call the things of God evil.
I want to be in fellowship with people who know and have the desire to want all that God has to give his children while we are here on this earth.The gifts were not a one time thing,there still being gave and I don't understand why some Christians know this and desire this close walk with God and why some Christians plain refuse to accept the things of God.
I just don't understand why some see it and some don't understand it ,calling it the things of the devil.Clearly this has become a burden for me because I know that the ones who say that this is not from God think they are walking with God.Then why?
I want the prayer language I want the touch from God.I have felt his Spirit and when God's Spirit has touched you in the core of your being and spreading like a fire to the ends of your hair to the bottom of your feet and you want to praise God with all that's in you then you know when someone tells you that is a cultic teaching you know that's not true because you know him.What I don't understand is why don't all those who try and be good Christians reject this aspect of our Lord or why have they never felt the Holy Spirit rise up in them?
Like I said this has burdened me down to the point,even had me questioning what I knew to be the truth and I know the Lord and I know this is the truth.

You are a women after your name sake. Here is the deal, you have a relationship with God, so did the diciples, they even did mericles during Christ minsitry. What they did not have was the power promised of God.
Act 1:4 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.
Act 1:5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.
This baptism is far greater than anything you have experianced I comes with tongues. The reason for this is that the tongue is the only member of our body that we cannot tame.
Jas 3:8 But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.
Jas 3:9 Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God.
Jas 3:10 Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.
When we let God control the most inner part of our life he takes our tongue to show us and speaks a new language through us. This is a gift but sometimes we have to wait for it. Trust me it will come as you prepare yourself for this great gift simply praise God for the things he has done for you and worship. My wife had just come to church when she was 19, and repented. That week she knelt down to pray before bed and she began to speak in tongues. Needles to say she did not know what it was at first. Every one gets it differant, but I have found the best way is to just worship and praise God for it and it will come.

I do not believe the gifts of the spirit are "occultist" at all (although the way some people try to use them certainly are). Case in point, read some of the many magic hair threads.....
