I have to say that Adobe, is a company right up there with General Electric/Oracle/Charter Communications/Apple -all of which is two steps removed from Satan himself, as far as how they treat customers and their desire to control the end users BUT their Photoshop software is the best in the world. I own CS2 and decided to take the plunge on CS5 (which was JUST released) when I saw how cheap I could get it as an educator. $198 versus $999 for the Extended version.
I will let you know what I think about it when it finally arrives.

Be careful RandyWayne! It can get you in trouble fast!
Example....
I took a picture of my wife, (and at our age you pick up a few wrinkles along the way), and took out some of the wrinkles, smoothing things a bit.
Called her in to show her my work, my expertise! First thing she said was, "Hummm, sure looking old!"
I responded, "You should have seen it before I worked on it!"
I slept on the couch that night. j/k

I have CS4 and I love it!

I used a trial version of CS4 (which subsequently screwed up my computer do to the insidious DRM Adobe uses) but LOVED a couple of the features on it dealing with controlling color in ways that CS2 cannot. I am really excited about the "Content Aware" fill function.
I've been using CS2 - but a version without the Acrobat PDF creator. I've been using an... *ahem! ... "evaluation copy" of Acrobat.
But, I have repented. I've got a new laptop on the way with Acrobat and Essentials on it. I went ahead and got the "newbie" Essentials package of Photoshop. It was less than $100 bucks - which is more than I saved by not pulling the trigger on the Alienware laptop that I really wanted.

Getting old when all of the "E" words can be used interchangeably with such ease.
I'm just hoping to not be disappointed with the Elements package.
Elements is a great program. I just don't care for the extreme use of wizards in it and prefer to be just given a bunch of tools and have to figure out how to do everything myself. lol

Which means Elements covers everyone but you and I

ahh... I hate wizards. Better lock up the guns before I give this a try. Supposed to be here with the new laptop Friday.
