Vacation snap shots

A friend is travelling right now and has sent the following snapshots.

I can't seem to post the pics without them being stretched out to 1024 pixels in size. The IE on this borrowed laptop is desperately in need of an update but I'm not an admin. The family laptops are otherwise in use elsewhere around the house.

We're staying at a beach house that belongs to a family member. He's a business tycoon of some sort. Apparently I don't owe him money because when I showed up with the wife and kids in tow the servants let us in. Nice pad.

The wave that are breaking are about 10 - 12 feet high. The water is a comfortable 50 degrees farenheit. We're going whale hunting tomorrow or the next day.

A large orange luminous orb is meeting the western horizon right now. By a trick of the eye, the citizens of Edo will think this orb has appeared from beneath their Eastern Sea.

Re: Vacation snap shots

I like the pics of the ocean.

The waterfall reminds me of one my daughter took pics of in Germany.

Next time you take a trip like this, if your kids need a nanny, I've got over 20+ years in daycare. Keep that in mind. LOL

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

That waterfall has got to be our own Multnomah Falls, near Portland, here in Oregon.

The waterfall is east of Portland. It's one of the cascades that give the mountains their name. The waves are a few steps west of Oregon itself.

I was guessing Oregon. They are awesome - I enjoyed them on a trip about 20 years ago.... but then Oregon has like 1000 waterfalls.

Great photos! I've seen some of those same views. I have a niece teaching math at Lewis and Clark not far from where you are.
