yes, but the fig tree had plenty of leaves but no fruit.

So itwasn't bare as in "uncovered" but barren as in "no fruit".

Michigan boy?

I've never been to Michigan, though I was close once. Boy was THAT a long trip! Non-stop driving from Gainesville to northern Wisconsin to pick up my neice on Christmas Eve, and straight back...I think I got a total of an hour's sleep that whole trip, out of 42 hours on the road, and most of that was while my Dad was driving.
