Well, I know that everyone who leaves UPC does not leave doctrine OR standards--that's simply not the case. Many, perhaps most, are not leaving because the UPC is too conservative for them. Great numbers of preachers turn in their fellowship cards for reasons that have nothing whatsoever to do with doctrine or a desire to abandon standards.

But it IS true that nearly everyone who lays aside standards does lay aside doctrine, also. If you think about it, that makes sense, because the standards of holiness ARE fundamental doctrine. Once you start to say it doesn't matter anymore, where do you stop?

Everything is gray! You can't take a stand and talk about it! If you do you are mean and controlling!

Please Polaris, this is completely illogical. I have laid aside some standards and am stronger in core doctrine than I have ever been.

Where is you faith? Many here are the same.

There is more un-stoppable power in Jesus name and Acts2:38 than any rule or standard.

Acts2:38 does not require man made rules to protect it message.

Truth will move on with out it.

Do you know for certain, have you taken a survey, done a poll, that would back up your "most who change their stance on standards abandons salvation" statement?

Jesus did not focus on the scum ...he focused on the need.....a carnal one at that.

Jesus did not boil the wash pots. He said fill them with water.

With scum, filth and toe Jam.....he turned scummy filthy water into wine.

When Jesus does the work; he don't need deserets to boil the pot.

I have observed it for 40 years that should count for something. I can only speak of what I personally have seen or have heard.
