So true! Grew up and ran with this for a while! Fear is a powerful tool to manipulate people with.
Fear will make people tremble, thus giving the preacher a false sense of power!
Fear will make people part with their money!
But Paul wrote:
1Jn 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
When I began to see what Love of Jesus can do for my life then the fear issue began to abate and peace came to my soul.
I Love God now, but I am not afraid that He is going to strike me down at any moment!
