Well the point is valid to a degree, but it's still not a good reason to NOT wear a wedding ring.
It still signifies marriage and it does have meaning. I still think that when people see no ring they wonder and if they were 'looking' it would present more of a barrier to thinking there was possibility of a relationship.

Some men (and women) will flirt just the same (or maybe even more) if they know the other person is married--they like it that way. I don't wear my ring to ward off advances. I wear my ring as a symbol of love and commitment to my husband. Period.
...I equate it to having long hair as a symbol of submission to God and my husband. I feel pretty strongly about wearing my ring.
I remember when we attended a more conservative church that preached against rings, I felt very uncomfortable when I was pregnant, out and about with my husband with our oldest daughter in tow...I felt like folks thought we weren't married. It embarrassed me, quite frankly.
So...why wouldn't you want to wear something that states your marital status?

If anyone saw you expecting and pushing a baby carriage they assumed you was married or should be.

In Ezekiel 28 one has to exercise caution because verse 12 makes it clear that this lament concerns the king of Tyre although the prophet uses the imagery of creation and the fall to depict the career of the king of Tyre. I don't believe that one can simply attribute everything stated here to Lucifer.

TB are you saying this was NOT Lucifer???? In Isa. 14 the prophecy there was addressed to the King of Babylon??? Yet beyond both of these mortal men named the spirit that was guiding them and influencing them is mainly addressed.

Are you saying this was NOT Lucifer?????????????????????

I see "every precious stone was your covering"
I see "because of your beauty"
I fail to see where his heart was lifted up because of precious gems. I also have to wonder why God would at one hand clothe an angel with gems and on the other condemn someone to hell for wearing plastic ear rings...
As for whether or not it was lucifer...that is debatable since the context says it was the king of tyre...but that is besie the point

Angels are not "always called men"...that would mean there is no difference between angels and men. Angels appear as men.
In Isaiah 14 there is NO word there in the greek for Lucifer. The subject is the king of Babylon.
Isa 14:4 you shall take up this song against the king of Babylon and say, How the exacter, the gold gatherer has ceased!
Isa 14:10 All of them will answer and say to you: 'You too have become as weak as we! You have become like us!'
Isa 14:11 Your pomp is brought down to Sheol, the sound of your harps; maggots are laid as a bed beneath you, and worms are your covers.
Isa 14:12 "How you are fallen from heaven, O Day Star, son of Dawn! How you are cut down to the ground, you who laid the nations low!
Isa 14:13 You said in your heart, 'I will ascend to heaven; above the stars of God I will set my throne on high; I will sit on the mount of assembly in the far reaches of the north;
Isa 14:14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.'
Isa 14:15 But you are brought down to Sheol, to the far reaches of the pit.

If there was, it was probably Belshazzar, in whose reign the city was taken (see the notes at Isa_14:22). It may, however, be designed to denote the Babylonian empire - the kingdom that had oppressed the Jews; and thus the king may be referred to as the head of the nation, and as the representative of the whole people.

Quote:
O Lucifer, son of the morning! alluding to the star Venus, which is the phosphorus or morning star, which ushers in the light of the morning, and shows that day is at hand; by which is meant, not Satan, who is never in Scripture called Lucifer, though he was once an angel of light, and sometimes transforms himself into one, and the good angels are called morning stars, Job_38:7 and such he and his angels once were; but the king of Babylon is intended, whose royal glory and majesty, as outshining all the rest of the kings of the earth, is expressed by those names; and which perhaps were such as he took himself, or were given him by his courtiers. The Targum is,
"how art thou fallen from on high, who was shining among the sons of men, as the star Venus among the stars.''
Jarchi, as the Talmud (c), applies it to Nebuchadnezzar; though, if any particular person is pointed at, Belshazzar is rather designed, the last of the kings of Babylon. The church of Rome, in the times of the apostles, was famous for its light and knowledge; its faith was spoken of throughout all the earth; and its bishops or pastors were bright stars, in the morning of the Gospel dispensation:

The wedding ring myth propagates the fictious "marriage is an eternal circle of love".
Marriage is NOT eternal (unless you are a Mormon ) the marriage vows are broken at the death of one partner.

Ok, let's take a poll and see if what you are saying is true.
We will ask "of those of you that wear a wedding ring, do you believe that marriage is an eternal circle of love, that even after death you two will be husband and wife in heaven too?"
You want to start it or shall I?
