A ring does have a usefulness in that it makes a statement to those looking on that she is married. Many times when I am talking to people and I don't for sure whether they're married or not I check the ring finger.

I told you and the others that Every girl dreams of the day she gets to wear her wedding ring. you , tamor and the other women disagreed with me now it sounds like you are saying basically the same thing.
I think these young Con girls want to wear a wedding ring too

Seriously speaking, I have no conviction about wedding rings or rings in general for that matter.
As has been stated, God created jewels and precious stones... Men and Women in Bible times wore rings and jewelry....including Godly people like Joseph, ect.

So you have no problem with peirced ears or Bracelets or Necklaces?

There is a pretty conservative Pastor here on the East Coast who was dead against wedding rings. He changed his view, because he said he noticed how people at restaurants, shopping centers, ect would look at his church girls who didn't have wedding rings but pushed baby strollers.
His observation was that people looked down on them because they figured that since they didn't have a ring on, they were single mom who had babies out of wedlock.
THIS WAS HIS REASONING for changing his stance....

The part of your post I disagreed with is that girls want BIG rocks and a status symbol. We don't all fit that image Thad.

True. When I see young moms with babies and no husband present I look for a ring.
I've also heard about conferences where large groups of apostolics are gathered and there are no rings to symbolize "marriage". Hotel clerks, staff and onlookers are left wondering.
