Just as ornamental as a necktie.

While I understand what you are saying, some won't wear what they feel ornamitation is, unless of course, it has a purpose. BTW, the discussion is not about a necktie, it's about a wedding band.

God did give him the jewels however those jewels that pormoted his beauty caused him to fall. God will test everyone and he tested Lucifer and he fell in Heaven. Well if jewels caused pride that contributed to him falling in Heaven what about us earthly creatures living on earth. I think jewelry is a pride thing. I never said jewels are evil NEVER they just do not belong on the saints. I wish I had some jewels I would sale them and give it to Missions maybe in China. Jewels will beautify the celestial city so I will wait until I get there to get mine.

Becuase I have a really nice wedding ring!
Seriously speaking, I have no conviction about wedding rings or rings in general for that matter.
As has been stated, God created jewels and precious stones... Men and Women in Bible times wore rings and jewelry....including Godly people like Joseph, ect.

I don't wear jewelry so to speak. But I have a black string with a mandolin pick on the end of it. It is one of the only things I have from my grandfather. Its not gaudy, its ugly. But it is a momento of him and the unbelievable musician thathe was. He was also an tongue talkin preacher.
Where is the pride in that?

I think every girl looks forward to and dreams of the day she is "chosen" and favoured and picked out of the crowd to become the love of a man's life. A ring ... which in our culture and many others is an important and beautiful symbol of love, commitment, covenant, & promise ..... is part of that along with the accompanying wedding, white wedding gown, veil, honeymoon, etc.
A ring does have a usefulness in that it makes a statement to those looking on that she is married. Many times when I am talking to people and I don't know for sure whether they're married or not I check the ring finger.
