Thad I am not getting ugly about it.I was joking okay???? I am sure he could have worn it around his neck if that would have been the custom. The stamp of a person in authority though had to contain his seal.I suppose if you kept it on your finger it would have had to be cut off to take it from you.lol..

Brother Thad then you are really wrong. My husband could backslide tonight
and I would not wear one.I had this settled long before I met him.Its between me and God.Sorry I don't have a desire for a big gawdy ring.My husband ask if I wanted to wear an engagement ring and I said no.I had already settled that conviction.

Do you realize how insulting that is. I preachers I run with ALL which preach against rings treat their wives as good wives should be treated.
I have NEVER forgotten:
My wife's birthday
Our anniversary
Mother' day.
On a regular basis I buy her flowers. She can buy buy anything we can afford without asking permission from me.
I preach against because we follow Paul's edict against gold it is that simple.

When I was a con, we didn't wear wedding rings because we believed the Bible taught against it. Now, we have simple bands. We will probably get something nicer in time.

I wore one for a month or two when I got married - then lost it.... figured it might be a sign and didn't wear one for 15 years. Then about four months ago I got another band :sshhh - thought it was the right thing to do.
