I have another question, why do Orthodox Jews wear them if it is a Catholic tradition that has paganistic origins?

They've been around before Rome.... the Jews always ran after paganistic practices... (thought I'd say it before someone else did )

I am a preacher but not a pastor.

My wife and I do not, nor have we ever, owned or worn wedding rings.

I would not allow or disallow anyone concerning this subject as I am not a Lord over God's heritage.

I would teach what I know and understand on the subject and it would be up to them to work out their own salvation with fear and trembling.

On the subject of Jews and these rituals...

Did not the Jews bring pagan rituals with them from their time in captivity in Babylon?

Where in the word of God would they find such instruction?

If not in the word of God then where did they derive this custom from?

The Jews did that up until the captivity of Babylon, however, they did not follow after idols nor pagan practices after that particular captivity. I'm not denying that the Orthodox Jews have other traits that aren't questionable, but the one thing that could be said of them was the fact that they learned a lesson of idolatry which they never returned to.

I'd have to disagree with that statement...their idolatry continued with their killing Jesus and embracing Phariseeical law
