His observation was that people looked down on them because they figured that since they didn't have a ring on, they were single mom who had babies out of wedlock.
THIS WAS HIS REASONING for changing his stance....
I happen to agree with the reason of him changing his stance, I'm just curious why other consevatives will put him in hell for changing it.

And what does this say about our witness to this individual? See what I mean?

Seriously speaking, I have no conviction about wedding rings or rings in general for that matter.

As has been stated, God created jewels and precious stones... Men and Women in Bible times wore rings and jewelry....including Godly people like Joseph, ect.

I think these young Con girls want to wear a wedding ring too
Nope! I disagreed with the statement that every lady dreams of wearing a big rock. There's a difference in a simple band and gawdy jewelry.

I took my rings off at one point because my wedding band had split at the stress point where it had been resized to make it smaller and it was digging into the flesh and uncomfortable.

My DS noticed (we were co-pastoring with him at the time) and he complained about the fact I wasn't wearing my rings. He felt that rings were important and that if you were married you should at least wear a simple wedding band.
