I didn't wear one for about 16 years. When I bought the one I have on now (yes, I bought it myself) I felt like the whole store was watching me. Then when I first wore it, it felt like I had a huge sign above my head with an arrow pointing down blinking *****wedding ring******. It was really a huge thing for me. I was still in the UPC when I started to wear it.

Actually, I wore it to bed only for a few months before I went public.

Well, I really believed it for so long. When I saw 'not with gold' I took it very literally. I would not even wear a gold barrette or a gold button.

Some of you were obviously more "programed" than I ever was. And I am still going to a UPC.

No, I associated it with apparel, but I made sure my purse was modest too. I would not have driven an expensive car. I still wouldn't want to. Just an ethical thing, I guess.

LOL! Well, I don't judge others in this area. I just feel that Americans in general are so materialistic. I try not to be. I think I would feel bad for driving something too expensive. That's just my own thinking.
