Divorce was not anymore "ok" under the law than it is now. Nothing was changed. Polygamy was never "ok" under the law nor wrong. Just not addressed. Vengeance was not ok under the law either, Justice was ok..what changed?
I have a question....is God a god that changes his mind back and forth? First it was ok now it is not?
Elder you need to look at what the NT says a little closer. If you are gonna take this verse LITERALLY then you need to be consistent and say gold and pearls are wrong, silver and other gems are ok. It does not say "Jewelry is a sin"...it does not say "wearing something that is shiny is wrong", It does not say "men wearing rings are going to hell"...this verse is specifically about women, gold and pearls and we should find out why. If jewelry is wrong universally then why does the NT not say so? Where does it say men can't wear rings in the NT?
If this verse is about jewelry then why only say gold and pearls and not "jewelry"? Why not cover diamonds and emeralds and silver?
