Did David have the Spirit? IF he lived by a higher "step" does that mean he never kept all those different laws which we don't have to keep? Kinda strange you would say that
BY GUTS ...???? There is a body of evidence that many were filled w/ God's spirit in the OT ... prophets mostly ... as for David ... this verse seems to suggest he had it!!!!

Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me (Ps 51:11).

Notice though that I never asked about bishops. I have repeated the question twice now and your reply doesn't answer my question

Sorry if it doesn't play into your theology but if David were to live on this side of Calvary the way he lived on that side of it he would die lost and I am not avoiding the question by any means.Go back and read my posts again.
I will ask it another way so maybe you can answer it this time...THIS SIDE of calvary...would David be a prophet? A King? An anointed one? Not asking if he would be a bishop...

Get it?

Maybe THIS side of Calvary he would not have all those wives either, but THAT side of Calvary He had the Holy Spirit. He was anointed (mechiach), he was a son of God, he was a prophet and I venture to guess that he will be saved as well, yes that side of calvary.

Oh ok. Can we revisit this and define what jewelry is again? First it was precious metals, but then if someone wears plastic ear rings that is jewelry too.. what about belt buckles? Broaches? hair pins? Neck ties? Tie clips? what about wearing an expensive pen in your pocket? Watches? Who decides what jewelry is?

The verse you all are using only refers to women and only says gold, pearls and costly array

some people buy and sell money too. Perhaps one might say holding onto dollars as it falls and not buying gold is gambling.

There's a false doctrine out there in Apostolicdom that suggests that those filled w/ God's spirit ... in the OT ... had a lite version ... while we got the full download version ... as if there's two Holy Spirits.

oh my! I misspelled... it's not Mr. "Rodgers"... but Mr. Rogers!!!

blah

Scott.. . err.. I mean, Mr. Rogers quote on standards:
“You know, you don't have to look like everybody else to be acceptable and to feel acceptable.”

when asked about Randy's boat:

“Propel, propel, propel your craft softly down liquid solution. Ecstatically, ecstatically, ecstatically, ecstatically, existence is simply illusion.”

preaching on television:

“I thought there was some way of using this fabulous instrument to be of nurture to those who would watch and listen,”

what he had to say about division in the church:

“How sad it is that we give up on people who are just like us.”

his reply when asked why he never gets upset with AFF members:

"I have a very modulated way of dealing with my anger. I have always tried to understand the other person and invariably I've discovered that somebody who rubs you the wrong way has been rubbed the wrong way many times."

WE NOW RETURN YOU TO YOUR REGULARLY SCHEDULED PROGRAM!!!!!!!!!

Imagine that...considering the volume of prophetic books in the OT...and considering Moses's experience lol.

The real difference is back then it was a select few. Today it's for all flesh and your sons and daughters shall prophesy etc etc.

Same Spirit, but that Spirit was not given as a promise to everyone. It was not poured out
