You know who started Pews? Trains for women?...brides maids? Best man? In fact who started this idea of a preacher marrying them?

Actually the opposite is true. They took off the jewelry when they backslide and made false gods for themselves

Eze 16:15 "But you trusted in your beauty and played the whore because of your renown and lavished your whorings on any passerby; your beauty became his.
Eze 16:16 You took some of your garments and made for yourself colorful shrines, and on them played the whore. The like has never been, nor ever shall be.
Eze 16:17 You also took your beautiful jewels of my gold and of my silver, which I had given you, and made for yourself images of men, and with them played the whore.

xo 32:1 When the people saw that Moses delayed to come down from the mountain, the people gathered themselves together to Aaron and said to him, "Up, make us gods who shall go before us. As for this Moses, the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him."
Exo 32:2 So Aaron said to them, "Take off the rings of gold that are in the ears of your wives, your sons, and your daughters, and bring them to me."
Exo 32:3 So all the people took off the rings of gold that were in their ears and brought them to Aaron.
Exo 32:4 And he received the gold from their hand and fashioned it with a graving tool and made a golden calf. And they said, "These are your gods, O Israel, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt!"

See brother....they should have kept them ON

She didn't get in from her pastor because he never mentioned it.

Naw some won't believe it and can scoff, but she got it in prayer.

Imagine that!

A young Baptist girl goes to a home mission Apostolic church, receives the Holy Ghost and dedicates her life to God and God puts convictions in her life that are still there almost 50 years later.

IMAGINE!

IF I even offered to buy her wedding ring or a tv she would pray for ME to get the victory.
Brother,
With all respect, due or otherwise, the circles you and your wife travel in dictate convictions, perceived or otherwise.

Acceptance is a powerful motivation.

Would this be moderate???? If not tell us what and why?????

We wear NONE thus we KNOW we are NOT in violation of the verse.

I realize some folks are so beautiful if they didn't wear a wedding ring the opposite sex would throw them on the ground and disrobe them. But some of us average folks don't have that problem.
Ok Berk...here I am. How far after this is jewelry defined?

It would be a mistake to wear jewelry considering what line of work you are in and where you do it. People have to realize we do things sometimes not because it's a sin and the bible forbids it, but because it's just the right thing to do or not do according to biblical principles set forth

Elder Epley, you are certainly more coherent then WH, whilebeit at times, just as non-sensical.

Hold your convictions Elder, just don't expect me to.

Then why when I asked the question about what Jewelry is did you make that statement about reading the entire thread?

What is jewelry? What about watches? Gold colored belt buckles? Broaches? Hair pins? Neck ties? Cuff links? What about expensive pens in your shirt pocket?

What makes it jewelry? Is it the gold and gems? So what if some lady wears a cheap 5 dollar pair of plastic ear rings from Walmart? She going to hell?

My husband and I wear wedding rings. Our pastor and most other church members do not. No one has ever told us we shouldn't, probably because our pastor believes we should have our own relationship with God and be able to hear from Him ourselves.

I do think it is important to wear a ring to show that I am married. If someone knows me well that would know I am married without a ring, but for anyone off the street, I would prefer that it be known that I am married before they approach or speak to me.
