I grew up in the UPC. When God began to deal with me about the false doctrine that was taught I separated my self from it.
Separated yourself?? Don't you mean got thrown out? What false doctrine did they develop that they did not have when you joined-- if the false doctrine came in at the merger???
Will a women go to hell for cutting her hair without repenting?
I guess the only lines that matter are the so-called "heaven or hell" issues.
What a love relationship that indicates...

I think it's sad when the 'scriptural lines' we are most concerned about have to do with cut hair.
I thank God that He is more concerned with the matters of my heart than what my hair looks like.
I meant in the context of the things under attack currently.
Obviously the heart issues are paramount, but no one is trying to say those don't matter.

Nowhere in scripture does it indicate that we must 'do' things to show our love for Christ.
We are to obey and follow scripture, working out our own salvation, trusting in the grace and mercy of Jesus Christ.
There's nothing more I can do to show God how much I love Him. Nothing. All my righteousness is as filthy rags.
God doesn't want my hair. He doesn't want my clothes.
He wants my heart. He has it.
If you love me, keep my commandments. Jesus has given us a "do"....keep His commandments.

Titus2woman on AFF
"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."
