Call the wah-mbulance, Dude.
Funny how you are desensitized enough to take potshots at Johnston, and that's justifiable - in your eyes. Funny how Chester Wright was last year's whipping boy only to become the darling of the radical right in 2008.
Who is next, Amos?
Who can we destroy next?
Whose character can we impugn next?
It's revolting.

Go ahead and post whatever potshots I made.
I think I have mostly defnded CW.
And you still have failed to produce a single post from last year where I trashed Brother Wright.
I don't totally agree with his position on Resolution 4, but you won't find a post where I slammed him, ever.
I have too much respect for him.

Re: Letter from Bro. Chester Wright to Bro. Haney
I will answer my own questions, because most here won't attempt to.
The reason why Chester Wright is the new darling of the radical right (even though he is nothing akin to a conservative) is because they gravitate to "the kill."

Read your comments about MJ and tell me if this is not an unwarranted accusation against a man, who by your own admission you do not know very well, and has never done anything to you.

Accusation?
CW is smarter than I am too, or than most folks I know.
'That is no "accusation."

None of these things have to do with his "character," which is, as far as I know, beyond reproach.
But when a man starts teaching things that I believe are unscriptural, that's where I get off.
When we talk about sin in terms of a preacher, we usually think of some moral failure.
I refuse to give room for that kind of false accusation, so while I believe teaching false doctrine is sin, I avoid that kind of language in a setting like this because of the possibility of it being misconstrued.
And yes, I believe the man in question is moving away from old time Pentecost, including some standards that I believe are Biblical essentials.
I also have doubts about where he stands on the essentiality of the New Birth.
I hesitate to say more, and maybe shouldn't have said that much.

Proof, please.

I already stated earlier on this thread that I am not going to get more specific than I already have.
You are welcome to say whatever you like about that.
You all have fun.

Ironic, isn't it?
You make accusations with no specific proof, and then accuse others of taking potshots?
You have accused another UPC brother of teaching false doctrine. You have accused him of not believing the New Birth message. And then you offer no specifics?

Amos,
What is it you think CW was doing to MJ? Taking potshots? It's honorable of you to think the best of CW, hoping that he spoke to MJ first but you truly don't know. And that this email found itself anywhere past the hands of KH and CW is the most troubling for me.
Do you think taking potshots at AnYONE whether preacher or saint is wrong? or is it just the actions of preachers being questioned is reprehensible to you?

Show me one post where anyone has attacked CW or bashed him. Seems to me that the only posts directed "against" him were ones questioning the way he handled the situation, not that he is inherently a bad man.
I don't think there is anyone on this forum, at least not from what I've seen, who would question what CW has done for the kingdom. CW has done a great work, and I have no doubt that he pastors a great church. However, is he immune from questioning? I don't think so.
Furthermore, I don't think anyone has to apologize for questioning the motives of a leader. If they do it respectfully, that leader, nor his loyal followers, should not be threatened.

Good post, MP.
We all make mistakes.

Re: Letter from Bro. Chester Wright to Bro. Haney
Well, it seems the letter had to be released to others by KH or CW himself.
