So, how about the other part? That revelation from God is more reliable (than studying and trying to understand it correctly)? Reading it for ourselves, no matter how hard we worked at it, many different interpretations have resulted. Zillions of denominations. But God certainly would not lead you astray! Right?

It was a specific and distinct occurance and added to the three Acts 2:38 steps - sort of like some others added "sanctification" in the past.

The accompanying teaching was that God opens the understanding and the revelation could not be received through study and intellect alone.

Do you remember this teaching?

Is it still taught some places?
They don't believe in one God though... They worship the greater of the two gods they believe in. (Jesus and Satan)

I'm concerned that heresy hunting may be turning into leukemia because some cultwatchers seem more intent on destroying parts of the body than healing the body....

Monotheism is the belief of one God, not the worship of one of them.

Explain further?

Even the Bible acknowledges the existence of many gods, but demands worship and service be reserved for God alone.

he most certainly will not..and the reason why he will not is because I am fitly placed in that category which Paul defines in I Corinthians 1;26-29..

presumption my friend is what leads many people astray..it wasn't God, but rather our own pride and arrogance , that takes us on a different path....

the smarter we are the smarter we think we are....

But the wisdom of God overthrows the wisdom of man..

When you get revelation from God how shall you judge it...
for example I got a revelation....what it revealed was that going off half cocked is a disease in and among so many as you said... and I was too weak a person to go in any direction without the certainty of God in it..so I rejoiced in being weak..

Of all the people who think the HS has taught them something, how many do you think are right?

not many if you take in all denominations ..

among Pentecostals that is so hard to say..

even after being filled, myself, it wasn't long before I realized that it can happen to anyone...Which is why the one God designed for us is infallible..
