Doesn't the New Testament discourage breaking ourselves off into little groups? "I'm of Paul, I'm of Apollos", etc? Can you imagine how the world could really be impacted if we had unity? If all Christians under every umbrella could begin to work together? I think one of the devil's most effective tools has been breaking all of Christianity up into smaller and smaller groups.
Yes, a divided house cannot stand.

Re: I Prefer Pentecostal

Pentecostals are all about separation, so why would they NOT want to be labelled "Pentecostal?"

I prefer Christian. I follow Jesus. He's my separation...

That's when we started using it when we left the UPC. Frankly I was trying to break away from the image that they had, without stepping away from the expericance.

I'm concerned that heresy hunting may be turning into leukemia because some cultwatchers seem more intent on destroying parts of the body than healing the body....

Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you. 2 Corinthians 6:17 KJV

As opposed to a Christian? Or a Baptist it's the Pentecostals? Sorry I don't buy it. There is nothing inherit in being labeled a Pentecostal that stresses separation over any other denomination

Seriously... some of you have become a "legalist" in your reading comprehension. The "spirit" of what she said is this: Pentecostals are known for separation/standards.

And I know you all care deeply about my preferences.
This Nahum fellow seems very wise.

Wow, some of you have become psychics in being able to know what the spirit of what someone said contrary to what they actually DID say
