Blocking people on forums...

So there is gaming forum I visit sometimes. They changed their ignore button to a block button.

Ignore just made you not see their posts. Block makes you not see their posts and them not see your posts.

Again this stops you from reading someones posts that blocked you. However, if you log out and then visit the forum you can see all their posts anyway.

I have no idea why such a feature that can be soo easily bypassed was ever added. It makes no sense to me lol.

It may be that some aren't savvy enough to figure out the bypass, or perhaps not interested enough to try?

Facebook also has a double block. I'm not a fan of it, and have never used it except in experiment mode. It is too easy to abuse. Person A knows that Person B has strong arguments against A's pet ideas. So he institutes a block.

This only makes sense in poorly moderated forums. In a well moderated forum, the mods handle this stuff. I suggest to mods that they, as a rule, not allow the Facebook double-block.
