Parental Accountability

This has been hashed out before I know......but are there any thoughts on parents saved and unsaved being held accountable for their childrens salvation?

There is no easy answer.

I have a hard time believing God would send an infant, unable to understand his need for salvation, to an eternal Hell. In my lifetime I have heard several men state that He (God) would send the children of unbelievers to Hell. The rationale is that He did not spare the children of Sodom, Gomorrah, or those in Noah's day.

I reject that notion. Their physical doom was indeed sealed by the unwillingness of their parents to escape the fire and flood, but nothing is mentioned concerning their eternal destination.

I choose to operate from a simple understanding that I word like this, "God is not stupid."

I guess age of accountability comes into effect here as well. Different for all?

I suppose.

Acts 17:30 is troublesome to me, however.

Paul seems to say that ignorance is no longer overlooked.

I wonder if there is a differnce between childhood innocence and adult ignorance?
