This obedience comes by a life in the Spirit, not by a strong human will. All they have accomplished is asceticism. But a life in the Spirit has acted out and displayed a mature faith.
In context, Paul makes it clear (even to the fornicating Corinthians) that this isn't an issue dangling them over hell's flames. This is about being mature, growing and becoming in Christ. I do agree, lazy, habitual sin leads to unbelief.

Can you elaborate on how Paul makes it clear that fornication isn't sin?

However, the topic remains, that what some are calling sin, other's aren't so sure it's sinful.

We have multiple things being brought up on this thread. However, there is a common theme--self-gratification, viewing pornography and fantasizing while having sex are all things that require a person to find sexual satisfaction in someone OTHER than a spouse. I think that's what's being objected to, and there is a blurred line with the role playing. Apparently some people don't just put on sexy outfits--they actually pretend their spouse is someone else. IMO, that's wrong.
